As part of my re-reading, I thought I would start with the first book that P G Wodehouse wrote, a serialized one called The Pothunters (so easily available on Amazon India as a hard-cover copy), set in St. Austin’s. I assume that books set in schools were a rage…reading Enid Blyton’s Mallory Towers and St. Claire’s was similar, though I wonder why as kids we read them and what we got out of them, given that the experience was so completely different anyway.
The story is about some trophies (pots) that have been stolen and how this affects the events of that week. It starts with a boxing match outside the school and then the action moves to the school. It is a little scattershot, with too many characters, following whom is a little tricky and difficult.
The writing though is vintage is PGW and you can see where it will go from here.
